There are lots of web gadgets around trying to help me make my mind up how to vote. The FT have a good one, although it seems a bit biased towards the liberal democrats and doesn’t work so well with mozilla. Despite its bias, its not quite as bad as a historic Private Eye headline “Voting Labour gives you aids!”, or the Harry Enfield spoof “L is for Labour, L is for Lice”, or anything party political by the Daily Mail.

However, I was taken aback over the weekend; I visited the cinema to see Hitch Hiker’s Guide and this was preceded by a political ad for the Tories! It’s a bunch of film clips of Blair, followed by right wing newspaper headlines supposedly “proving” that Labour has broken its promises , all to the backing sound of Marti Webb’s “Take that look of your face!”. It’s actually on their web site, but to my mind its not an advert issued by people who think they’re going to win.
